Well, it's September 25, soooooo no time like the present to blog about my September HST BOM block, right? LOL.
September's Perfect HST Sampler block is Lake Shore Star. I've been fortunate enough to live almost my entire life near the shore of Lake Michigan. I've basically just moved around it from one side to the other! My childhood was spent in Western Michigan, then I lived for several years in Chicago, and now I'm here on the North Shore in Milwaukee.
All my life, the lake has centered me—so much so that it's often the basis for my sense of direction and geography (although moving from the east side of the lake to the west required a bit of an adjustment!) It creates weather patterns that I've had to live through and plan around for decades, and it's an amazing resource for the cities and states that border it, in so many ways. It was literally my kids' first playground (they went to beachfront nature preschool), and it's the source of many fond memories for me.
